Steven Colligan is Head of the Radiotherapy Physics Section at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness. As the smallest, remotest radiotherapy department in the UK, with one linear accelerator a kV unit and a simulator it presents particular challenges to provide the majority of modern techniques with a small staff group and minimal backup facilities. After graduating in 1991 in Electrical Engineering from Edinburgh University I undertook an MSc in Aberdeen. I then worked in Radiotherapy Physics in Coventry until 1998 when I moved to Inverness. Steve contributes to radiotherapy requirements for Scotland through working groups and the Scottish Radiotherapy Advisory Group. He is also a contributor to the recent IPEM publication on simulator acceptance.
